![]() Digicel announced this week it will be increasing its domestic capacity by 200 percent, while International capacity will be increased by 300 percent. “The only way to predict the future is to create it and this increase in capacity will allow us to bring the TCI the future in Telecommunication products and services and we are excited about it. Stay tuned,” said Digicel CEO E. Jay Saunders. Saunders said once completed, the upgrade will allow Digicel to offer the latest products and services to customers in the TCI. “This is in line with the company’s commitment to deliver to its customers the Best Network, Best Technology, Best Service and Best Value,” he added. The expansion work commenced on Monday, February 28 and continues through to March 6. Digicel says customers will experience intermittent service during the hours of 12 a.m.-7 a.m. during the period of upgrade and apologises for any inconvenience this may cause. Introducing the new BlackBerry Bold The wait is almost over — Digicel announced this week it will introduce the BlackBerry Bold 9780 to the Turks and Caicos Islands this month. “This sleeker, newer version of the BlackBerry Bold is perfectly suited for people constantly on the go who need connectivity in real time,” says Digicel Group Commercial Director, Brian Finn. “With the inclusion of the BlackBerry 6 operating system, the 9780 will offer expanded messaging capabilities which simplify the management of social networking and make access to the Internet easier and more interactive.” The BlackBerry Bold 9780 is the first BlackBerry Bold smart phone to come with the new BlackBerry 6 operating system, which retains the familiar and trusted features that distinguish the BlackBerry brand while delivering a fresh, approachable and engaging experience that’s powerful and easy to use. Featuring a premium and iconic design with an easy-to-use keyboard and optical trackpad for smooth navigation, the compact and elegantly styled BlackBerry Bold 9780 is packed with advanced communications and multimedia features. The BlackBerry Bold 9780 also comes with a 5-megapixel camera with a full complement of high-end features including continuous auto focus, scene modes, image stabilisation, flash and video recording. The BlackBerry Bold 9780 also includes 512 megabytes of flash memory and an expandable memory card slot that supports up to 32 gigabytes of additional storage.
